JHWH – I AM
A wall we (Bams, Rhyse, Fay & Joax) painted at the yearly Opwekking conference in the Netherlands.
The subject of this wall is the unchanging character of God and how He reveals this through his name and His law.
The elements in this piece are as follows..
The Name of God Jahweh in Hebrew and in Dutch.. The name God reveals to Moses in Exodus 3:14:
14 God said to Moses, “I am who I am.c]”>[c] This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’”
15 God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The Lord,d]”>[d] the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’
“This is my name forever, the name you shall call me from generation to generation.”
God’s name also is encoded in the tzitzit which are connected to the prayer robes of the characters on the side they have the purpose of reminding the wearer of God’s law.
The stone tablets, written on the tablets, two scripture references.. Deutoronomy 6:4-9:
4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.a]”>[a] 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
The other Marc 12:28-31:
28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”
29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
